YouTube + Family Vacations = Travelistic.com

Hoping user-generated videos will do for online travel what Saturday Night Live skits did for YouTube, Travelistic.com has launched, encouraging travelers to post their travel videos and commentary.

Travelistic will feature videos created by users and local tourism bureaus, among others, and has incorporated social-networking features, MediaPost reports. The site lets bloggers and others embed Travelisitc videos in their publications, and also allows tagging and user profile pages.

Travelistic will generate ad revenue from Google AdSense contextual ads and video pre-roll ads from marketers such as Acura, Procter & Gamble and Days Inn.

Under the tagline "Watch Where You're Going," Travelistic will also feature professionally produced programs such as "The Thirsty Traveler" (about wine-producing areas, for example), "Focus On" (about less-traveled destinations) and weekly video podcasts.
