YouTube is poised to roll-out nine country-specific versions complete with the country's appropriate domain, such as YouTube.fr, reports TechCrunch.
Brazil, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, and the UK will each get their own version of YouTube. The new sites will be fully translated and will eventually feature country-specific content.
Broadcast partners for the move include BBC, France 24, Spain's Antena 3 and Cuatro TV, Portugal's RTP, two Dutch networks, and a number of football clubs and nonprofits.
