Now YouTube users can directly syndicate recently-uploaded videos across social networks, including Google Reader, Twitter and Facebook.
YouTube's integration with Facebook Connect is particularly interesting: not only does it unite the YouTube label to a number of associated online destinations; it will also precipitate video dissemination on TV, via consoles, and across handhelds, according to the Facebook Developer Blog.
The new feature is currently limited to new video uploads. After linking your external accounts onto YouTube's "Upload" page, you are provided with the option to share the material you upload — effectively enabling you to disseminate new videos across friends', followers' and fans' feeds.
"It's interesting to see a Google owned company take advantage of Facebook Connect considering the company's investment in making their other social standards more widespread," AllFacebook mused. But it also noted that, according to Facebook, online TV-watching site Joost enjoyed significant engagement boosts after its December implementation of Facebook Connect.
The average Facebook user watched 30% more videos and entered 15% more comments on Joost, compared to the rest of its audience, the social network claimed, suggesting that Facebook Connect integration can only further the dominance of YouTube, not hamper it.
