YouTube: going live

In an interview on web show Pop17, YouTube cofounder Steve Chen confirmed the video sharing site may add live streaming this year.

"Live video is just something that we’ve always wanted to do, we’ve never had the resources to do it correctly, but now with Google, we hope to actually do it this year," said Chen.

Yahoo launched a live video service earlier this month, but the site quickly suffocated against limited traffic, according to ReadWriteWeb.
