OneSearch to rule them all

T-Mobile has selected Yahoo as its exclusive search provider for handsets in Europe.

Yahoo's oneSearch will be available to T-Mobile Europe users at the end of March. OneSearch enables customers to retrieve "universal" search results on handhelds, including news and weather.

Communication tools like Y! Messenger and Mail will be added later.

Having identified mobile as a key growth area, Yahoo has organized similar partnerships for oneSearch and other handheld-ready products. It already serves ads on T-Mobile's UK web service; recently, it extended its mobile ad relationship with AT&T.

Yahoo also introduced oneConnect, a mobile packaging service for products like Messenger and Mail. Outside developers will be able to build applications upon it.

oneConnect debuts in spring.
