A partnership between Yahoo and CBS will result in the streaming of 60 Minutes programming online this fall, in a special section that Yahoo will create on its site for showing two segments of the show - one an expanded version of a televised show, the other an original segment - reports AdWeek. Buick, a sponsor, will run pre-roll video spots.
Yahoo and CBS said they would add interactive elements, including maps, blogs and photo galleries. Yahoo will include 60 Minutes content in its news, entertainment and sports verticals.
Yahoo will sell display and video ads for the microsite, a preview version of which will go live this Sunday with teaser content and a Buick sponsorship, writes ClickZ. The program will include an interview with Tiger Woods. Sponsorships will be sold on either a weekly or quarterly basis, according to Yahoo News Executive Producer Neil Budde.
