Yahoo is testing a new wi-fi service with selected users that would allow its instant messenger to access wi-fi networks and provide free IMing and VOIP calls, according to TechCrunch. Unrestricted access to the internet via those networks would cost $7.95 per month, or two hours for $2.95.
"Now when you are on the move to the places that you go most - airports, hotels, coffee shots - you can stop twiddling your thumbs and start communicating via instant message with the people you care about most…all for free," according to Yahoo.
