Yahoo is offering free web hosting to small businesses in an attempt to eventually bolster its search and related advertising business, writes CNET. Yahoo's new service, being announced today, will let small businesses sign up for a free Web page in Yahoo's local directory. The move will help otherwise unwired small businesses come online, and Yahoo hopes that it will be top of mind when those businesses think of promoting their site, a Yahoo spokesperson told CNET.
