Yahoo News will soon begin broadcasting 10-20 news clips a day from local CBS stations, including features as well as breaking news. Users can search the news clips by ZIP code.
Advertisements will be placed alongside the videos on Yahoo's site, and ad revenue from the clips will be shared between CBS and Yahoo, CNET reports. Sixteen CBS-owned local stations will supply the clips, including stations in major markets such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York and Miami.
The partnership with CBS comes as Yahoo is attempting to position itself in the online video arena in response to Google's recent acquisition of YouTube.
