Yahoo said it would begin an expansive ad campaign for its new online music service, Yahoo Music Unlimited, in what is an attempt to catch up with rival Apples' iTunes online music store, reports AdWeek. Soho Square in New York and OgilvyOne in San Francisco created the "This is huge" campaign featuring miniaturized animations of rock stars and the tagline "Over a million songs - 5 bucks a month - This is huge."
Online ads offering clips of featured stars and a free trial of the service will run throughout the Yahoo portal and on other sites. Yahoo has also planned TV, print and outdoor ads. The push launches August 28 on the MTV Video Music Awards and will run for the rest of the year.
