Joining the Y! buddy system
T-Mobile has signed Yahoo to display ads on its UK mobile web-browsing service, reports Reuters.
Yahoo will serve display ads to the Web'n'walk mobile Internet service offered by T-Mobile in the UK. The two will work together to develop opportunities that take advantage of the interactivity offered by mobile platforms.
In November, Yahoo signaled a preference to build web-based applications, as opposed to software, for mobile users.
The deal gives Yahoo a major footprint in the UK mobile advertising market. Vodafone has a similar deal in place for Yahoo.
