Meet the Lower East Side

Yahoo has rolled out an update for Yahoo Maps that includes neighborhood data, expanded worldwide coverage and aesthetic improvements, according to the Yahoo! Maps blog.

300 cities with new neighborhood data have been added throughout North America, with 12,000 new neighborhoods — including NYC's Lower East Side, and Ithaca's Lower Collegetown. The update also highlights landmarks like schools, rest areas and ski resorts.

Worldwide coverage was improved, especially throughout Eastern Europe.

Style improvements feature hybrid road and label colors adjusted for legibility.
