Y!, Google Seek Dominance in Future of Social Networking

We will, we will mosh you

Google and Yahoo are both hard at work on next generation social networks. And while Yahoo has been secretive about its new Mosh network, there's plenty of news available on Google's new Socialstream.

Parked at mosh.yahoo.com and currently only available from inside Yahoo offices, Mosh confirms that Yahoo will probably not buy Bebo, according to TechCrunch.

Google's Socialstream is a Google-sponsored project at Carnegie Mellon's Human-Computer Interaction Institute, designed to "rethink and reinvent online social networking," reports TechCrunch.

The goal is to “create a system for users to seamlessly share, view, and respond to many types of social content across multiple networks.”

Socialstream is more about the individual's content than the website, meaning the site will act more as an aggregator than a conventional social network. Watch a demo about Socialstream here.
