Yahoo will shut down auction sites in the U.S. and Canada indefinitely this June 16, according to CNET. Sites in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan will not be affected.

Though no reason was given, Yahoo auction sites account for a meager 0.19 percent to eBay's daunting 95 percent, according to Hitwise.

Yahoo also has a working relationship with eBay.
