Business-oriented social networking site Xing just announced a partnership with ZoomInfo, a business data search engine whose database houses over 36 million people and four million companies, reports ZDNet.
Under the agreement, Xing members may access ZoomInfo profiles, with premium members able to contact the professionals profiled by the ZoomInfo engine. Xing members will also be able to manage their own profiles by monitoring information captured by ZoomInfo.
CEO Lars Hinrichs of Xing explained, "We are combining crawling for information and semantically generated profiles with the power of social networking, with the users generating the content."
The ZoomInfo connection will be available to members in the fall, according to Hinrichs.
Xing has over two million members, primarily outside the US. Competitor LinkedIn houses over four times that figure.
A clause in the Xing and ZoomInfo relationship protects Xing from making a similar deal with ZoomInfo.
