WSJ Relaunches Small Business Channel

New and improved

The Wall Street Journal has given its StartupJournal section a makeover, with Mastercard and Dell leaping aboard as the relaunched site's first sponsors, reports ClickZ.

The newly-named Entrepreneur channel was tweaked to serve a broader audience, covering topics to appeal to business owners at all stages of a company's lifespan.

The site has also been moved to new back-end software that better optimizes it for search engine traffic. This platform already hosts the paper's Autos section, and will serve as the foundation for more WSJ sections by early next year.

MasterCard and Dell will pose as the site's initial sponsors. In addition to running banner ads promoting small business solutions, Mastercard will run a "Business Center" microsite branded by both itself and the WSJ.

Dell is running display ads as well.
