Wikipedia: China's Baidu Hurts Copyrights

Wikipedia claims Baidu, China's most popular search engine, is also the biggest violator of Wikipedia copyrights.

According to Infoworld, the Wikimedia Foundation has no plans to take Baidu to court, but it is asking publicly that the search company respect its copyright license by citing Wikipedia entries that have been copied.

Due to strict censorship laws, Wikipedia is blocked in China. Ironically, the only place Wikipedia content exists in the country is on Baidu's online encyclopedia, Baidu Baike, which complies with Chinese authorities by requiring content providers to register their real names.

Entries are then reviewed by site administrators before posting.
