WhenU Dealt Search Engine Death Sentence

CNET: Search engines delete adware company

Yahoo and Google both gave pop-up purveyor WhenU a search engine death sentence, dropping links to the firms sites after determining that WhenU was "cloaking," or putting up linked dummy sites whose sole purpose was to make its web address appear more popular. WhenU's chief, Avi Nader, blamed a New York-based search engine optimization firm that he said was fired yesterday when the practices came to light. He said he expected to get WhenU re-listed soon.
