Reuters reports that cell phone penetration in Western Europe will hit 100 percent by 2007, according to management consultancy Analysys Research. Active mobile penetration, which excludes phones that have not been used for about three months, is expected to grow to 98 percent in 2006 from 90 percent in 2005. Analysys expects mobile service revenue to grow, helped by third-generation (3G) videophones that can attract customers with mobile data services such as quality picture, internet and music services. There are already as many mobile phones as people in countries such as the U.K., Italy and Sweden.
