A start-up based in Mountain View is looking to make finding free Wi-Fi an easy process, reports TechCrunch. Called WeFi, the software will replace Windows Connection Manager and locate free Wi-Fi via an interactive map showing the location of free hotspots and other We-Fi users.
The maps will be user-generated at outset. Users may plot their own locations, allowing others - including WeFi - to ascertain where a free hotspot exists.
WeFi doubles as a presence-based social network where users can potentially meet new people nearby.
