Websites Draw Traffic with TV-Related Content

This fall, TV viewers flocked to the web for TV-related content, with the number of unique visitors to TV-related sites increasing 8 percent in September to 69.3 million - up from August's 64.4 million - according to comScore, reports MediaPost. Visitors to ABC.com increased 90 percent, to 7.6 million, because of hit shows such as "Desperate Housewives" and "Lost." The site, like some other networks', offers fans additional video clips, quizzes and blogs by TV show characters.

Traffic at MSN Television increased to 10.2 million unique visitors, up 76 percent from August; AOL Television saw a 45 percent jump to 10.6 million unique visitors; and Yahoo TV soared 30 percent to 8.3 million unique visitors.

With the growing popularity of broadband, websites have been offering more TV-related content.
