Eric Ward reviewed the "Web's Biggest" search engine, a wiki project that allows searchers to actually modify results for future searchers. It appears to use the whois database to locate sites other search engines fail to include, although SearchEngineLowdown points out that this might not be altogether in compliance with whois terms.
