MediaPost: Women Pack 38 Hours Of Activity Into A 24-Hour Day And Are Big Daytime 'Net Users
40 years ago, women started moving en masse into the work force, and less than ten years ago, they started spending the greater portion of that workday in front of a computer. A new Yahoo and MediaVest study shows that this combination of factors now makes the web the best place to find the most women during the day. The study found that women spend a great deal of time surfing for personal needs, including news, weather, games and financial applications, and that they feel justified in doing so during the workday because their jobs have taken over such a large portion of their lives.
