Cloud computing goes pro
SlideRocket is the latest web-based presentation tool to compete with Microsoft PowerPoint.
Unlike free-to-use productivity competitors Zoho, Google, and Empressr, Slide strives for business clientele willing to pay for its goods, reports TechCrunch.
Features include the ability to import fonts and choose from a variety of layouts, special effects for videos and photos, and a searchable asset library. An analytics tool keeps track of how many people viewed a given slideshow, as well as how long they may have lingered on individual slides.
SlideRocket also encourages users to share images, themes and templates with each other.
The company eventually intends to avail APIs to developers. In the meantime, the presentation tool has been adopted by other online services, including Salesforce.
