WashingtonPost.com has begun uploading news and short-form documentary videos to Apple's iTunes music store for download to the new video iPod, Mediapost reports (via MediaBuyerPlanner). The video is free and ad-free, at least until the Post can convince its advertisers of the medium's merit.
"I don't see us ever charging for the content we're putting up now," said Chet Rhodes, the Post's deputy multimedia editor. Advertisers will want to see the video downloaded at least 10,000 times before they take notice, he said.
Several ABC News affiliates have added video content to the store, as well.
