Warner, Apple Agree to Sell TV Shows via iTunes

Popular television series Friends, cartoons and other TV shows are being made available for download via iTunes.

Warner Brothers and Apple have entered into an agreement to sell classic TV shows online, including the Jetsons cartoon and science-fiction show Babylon 5, as well as the pilot of a scrapped TV show based on the Aquaman comic character, reports the BBC. Each download is priced at $1.99.

Warner Brothers said last month it had agreed with online video firm Guba.com to sell films and TV shows online and in May struck a groundbreaking distribution deal with file-sharing system BitTorrent, writes the CNET Media blog.

Simon Kenny, president of Warner Brothers Digital Distribution, called the move "an important step" in making its material available "across the widest selection of platforms and devices."
