Media buyer job listings
on Talent Zoo
The media economy is up 4.4 percent in the first quarter, and agencies are looking to fill out their staffs, particularly hoping to find media buyers and planners with more than just a year or two of experience, Media Life writes (via MediaBuyerPlanner). The number of media jobs now available is about three times what it was last year, with the heaviest demand for mid-level positions, according to Talent Zoo.
The demand is particularly strong for online, said Patricia Sklar, president of the national recruiting firm Sklar & Associates. "I see people with two years' experience asking for a huge amount of money." But, she adds, there is demand for good media professionals all around.
"People who started in the 1990s but were laid off in the early 2000s were forced to go find work in other industries. So, the people who survived are in the minority, and our clients are scrambling to find that talent," said Ragan Jones, vice president of recruiting at Talent Zoo.
