Wal-Mart Stores posted '07 revenues of $378.8 billion (up 7.9 percent from 2006) and profits of $12.7 billion.
These figures again made it the No. 1 corporation in the Fortune 500, Fortune announced, MarketingCharts reports.
Wal-Mart is also the biggest employer, employing more people (2 million) than the US armed forces (1.4 million).

- Exxon Mobil was at No. 2 ($372.8 billion in revenue and $40.6 billion in profits) — the fifth straight year (and seven of the last eight) it led in profits.
- Chevron moved one spot up to No. 3, with $210.8 billion in revenue and profits of $18.7 billion, and ConocoPhillips held the No. 5 position.
- AT&T, ranked No. 10, is used by every company on the Fortune 500 for data and phone connections; one in three Americans uses a cellphone on an AT&T wireless network.
