Following a growing trend, Starwood's W hotels brand is advertising to consumers on blogs. Their campaign can be seen until the end of February on HotelChatter.com, sending clickers over to a promotional page for spring break packages. Site chief Mark Johnson said his blog was particularly appropriate given the time-sensitive nature of W's campaign. "We have a sizeable amount of readers who return every day." The campaign was purchased directly, rather than through one of the proliferating blog networks.
