A new service from blog-publishing company Six Apart gives bloggers privacy controls over the content they publish.
The new service, called Vox, is now available after being beta-tested by 50,000 TypePad users, Reuters reports. The service differs from similar blog platforms that Six Apart offers, such as TypePad and Movable Type, in that Vox lets users determine whether the content they publish is public or private.
Vox will give bloggers five levels of control over every item they publish to their blogs, including text, photos, audio, and videos. Bloggers can also determine who can read and leave comments.
Vox will, for example, appeal to parents who want to stay in touch with children, or with a network of family friends, but don't want the general public to have access to their content. Users will have the ability to publish to Vox via mobile phone.
