Obama Girl on Vivaty
Social virtual world Vivaty launched Vivaty Everywhere, a way to embed "scenes" from the virtual world onto other social sites, including Facebook, Flickr or digg.
In tandem with its launch, Universal Music Group and BarelyPolitical have prepared two themed scenes that users can disseminate.
To promote The Cosmos Rocks, an album by Queen + Paul Rodgers, Universal created the Queen + Paul Rodgers Listening Party. Here's a shot of it in a Facebook news feed:
Clicking on it brings you to the Vivaty site, where users can join the "listening party" — a live chat in a 3D setting — and listen to tracks from the album. The upper right-hand corner of the site sports a "Share" icon that, when engaged, enables Vivaty to automatically embed the widget onto select social sites.
Meanwhile, Barely Political's Barely Political Party showcases popular "Obama Girl" election videos, which fans can share and discuss. (Earlier this year, Barely Political hired actress Amber Lee Ettinger to pose as Obama Girl, a zealous Obama fan, complete with music videos and orchestrated dance-offs with other busty political groupies. The meme has enjoyed runaway success over the course of this year's Presidential election campaign.)
Vivaty currently only supports Internet Explorer 6 or 7 and Firefox 2 or 3 on Windows XP or Vista. Users can create personal themed scenes via Vivaty, on Facebook Apps or on AOL Instant Messenger. View a tutorial on how it works.
