Verizon is in the final stages of talks with YouTube about bringing the site's videos to cellphones and television.
The deal would be a big boost to Verizon's efforts to expand in internet and entertainment services, Reuters reports the Wall-Street Journal as saying. According to the discussed terms of the deal, some of YouTube's content would be distributed via VCast to Verizon Wireless customers, and videos may be made available over the cable company's on-demand service that will be launched soon.
The Journal quotes a source close to the deal as saying that the video-distribution deal would give Verizon the exclusive right to carry the videos for a certain amount of time.
