Verizon Chooses AOL for Mobile Ads

Verizon Communications has tapped AOL to provide ads on the carrier's mobile internet, reports Reuters.

The deal is a big win for AOL's Platform-A division, which was positioned as the rallying point for AOL's continued success as it continues to shift its focus from mostly subscription-access-based to ad revenue.

Through Third Screen Media, AOL will manage inventory on all Verizon's online space, as well as on its Wireless Web product. Ads will be targeted along demographic and geographic lines.

The price of the deal was not disclosed.
