VeriSign, continuing its expansion, has acquired leading mobile marketing services firm m-Qube for $250 million, reports MediaWeek. m-Qube is a specialized mobile "enabler"; its functions range from handling the technological, back-end execution aspects of campaigns to creating the ads themselves. m-Qube has implemented mobile marketing efforts for big-name advertisers such as Sony Pictures, CBS, Major League Baseball, Warner Music Group, and Reuters.

"VeriSign is combining its world-class expertise, applications and infrastructure to make content convergence over any network and any device a reality," ClickZ quotes Vernon Irvin, executive vice-president and general manager of VeriSign Communications Services, as saying.
