Hollywood talent firm United Talent Agency is partnering with Veoh Networks (an internet-TV peercasting network) to create a channel for the recruitment of new talent and to showcase its current clients.
Veoh, which is backed partly by former Walt Disney Chief Executive Michael Eisner and media conglomerate Time Warner, will allow users to submit unsolicited material to vie for a shot at being represented by the agency, Reuters reports. UTA's clients include actors Harrison Ford and Ben Stiller.
UTA is hoping it can tap into the user-generated video boom and the popularity of sites such as YouTube to convince amateur artists and filmmakers to submit their videos to the Veoh channel in hopes of landing with the talent agency.
