Users Still Like Banners Best

iMedia: Long Live the Banner?

A Dynamic Logic study confirmed what most Internet users already know, but what most online advertisers keep insisting must not be true: the banner is the most preferred ad format. The study created a hierarchy of formats ranked from least to most annoying, and they followed one consistent trend: the more intrusive a format - for instance, by adding sound or a new window - the least liked it became.
