Web-only readers of newspapers constitute up to 15 percent of total readership for some newspapers.
In larger markets, those web-only readers of newspapers number in the "hundreds of thousands," writes paidContent, citing a study by Scarborough Research, which analyzed the readership of the top 25 regional newspaper markets in the U.S. Moreover, those web-only readers tend to be more educated, affluent and younger than print readers (see graphics), according to the study (pdf).

TheTampa Tribune has the highest proportion of web-only readers (15 percent); the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has 10 percent, the Boston Globe 9 percent.
The Washington Post has the highest percentage of "integrated" web and print readership, with 25 percent. The New York Times has 22 percent and the Boston Globe 21 percent.
