Disney is set to launch an online media store targeting tweens, reports ZDNet. Called Disney Mix Central, the site will coincide with the company's line of Disney Mix portable media players.
Prices will be closely matched to iTunes, upon which Disney also sells music. Unlike iTunes, Mix Central music will be protected by Windows Media's DRM system, making all media sold on the new store incompatible with iPods.
Disney is positioning the store as kid-safe. Content includes songs and music videos from Walt Disney Records and Hollywood Records labels, such as the soundtrack to the High School Musical.
