Multimedia search engine TVEyes now lets viewers use a "spoken word index" to search on any word spoken during top TV news broadcasts - that is, those subsequently stored online - reports Search Engine Watch. TVEyes is using voice-recognition technology to create the index, making the programs keyword-searchable. Included is content from FoxNews.com, CNN.com, MSNBC.com and CBSnews.com, among others.
TVEyes also offers a subscription-based video search service - TVEyes Professional - which offers near real-time searchable transcripts of TV programming on most U.S. major networks, local stations, and a selection of stations around the world - like BBC, CBC Newsworld and Al Jazeera.
TVEyes also powers Podscope, launched last April, which lets listeners keyword-search podcasts using the same speech-recognition technology. In December, Podscope began offering keyword-based RSS feeds, allowing users to be notified via RSS when selected keywords are mentioned in a podcast.
