TV Stations Get Into Online Classifieds

TV stations are becoming the next to chip away at newspaper's already-dwindling share of the online classifieds market, reports MediaPost.

For TV stations it's both another source of revenue and another step they can can take toward becoming a one-stop shop for local information. That's bad news for newspapers, which are already trying to cope with the existence of sites like craigslist.

Strategic partnerships, like those Internet Broadcasting System developed for its sites with Monster, are just one part of this move. They're also prominently featuring automotive and real estate listings, either through third parties or on their own.
