Tuesday's Toolset Watch

Analytics

Google has made the updates it announced last month to its Analytics ecosystem.  Along with launching the Google Analytics Application Gallery, it has also released a major update of the AdWords reports in Google Analytics - now all Analytics users have access to three new reports, 10 new dimensions, and additional AdWords metrics.

The new reports are:

  • Day Parts Report, which breaks ad performance down by day of the week and by hour of the day;
  • Destination URLs Report, which break outs performance at the Campaign, Ad Group, or Keyword level;
  • Placements Report, which gives post-click performance data about campaigns.

Online Ad Exchanges

ContextWeb, which operates the ADSDAQ Ad Exchange, has introduced PubVantage, a new destination integrated into ADSDAQ, that allows online publishers to research, rate and review any ad network and connect to them via ADSDAQ. It has also developed PerformancePrice, a tool that auctions publisher ad impressions to advertisers and networks trading on ADSDAQ.

E-Commerce

ATG has upgraded its recommendation engine - ATG Recommendations and ATG Email Recommendations. There is a new, Flash-based interface for merchants to manage their online catalog and email campaigns without changing page code. Also a dynamic recommendations rules feature allows merchants to use customer and behavioral information - including a visitor's profile, search behavior, loyalty status, or color or size selection preference - for recommendations.

Metrics

RealVu' s Viewable Impression metric has been accredited by the Media Rating Council. It measures when ad content is loaded, rendered and 60% of the ad surface area is within the visible area of a viewer's browser window on an in-focus web page for at least one second.

Email Marketing

Constant Contact has introduced its Constant Contact MarketPlace, a free online resource for small businesses and non profits.

SEO

On Thursday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. ET, Siteworx will host a live Web event titled, "Fundamentals of Organic Search Engine Optimization - Developing Your SEO Plan." Presenters will answer questions Tweeted beforehand.
