Trump Plug Nets BK Big Traffic Gains

A paid placement, folded into the "plot" of an Apprentice TV episode, severely juiced Burger King's web traffic, sending more than a quarter million people to BK.com in the week after the episode aired on January 20. Oily business despot Donald Trump had his teams of sycophants attempt to build a new type of burger, resulting in the Western Angus Steak Burger, which will be made available in thousands of Burger Kings. TheKnot.com also saw a similar rise in the show's second season, although that placement was happenstantial and not paid. Yahoo Local got into the act this past week, paying to have its local listings plugged in the show that aired January 27.
