Social media technology vendor TruMedia Networks acquired a number of social media sites from Boxcar Media for an undisclosed figure. The acquisition includes Sawxheads.com, Celtsheads.com, Patsheads.com and Blackandgoldheads.com, all sports communities.
The acquisition equips TruMedia to more effectively target fans of major Boston sports teams: the Red Sox (Sawxheads.com), the Celtics (Celtsheads.com), the New England Patriots (Patsheads.com) and the Bruins (Blackandgoldheads.com). Each site enables users to build profiles, share thoughts and swap rumors about the local sports scene.
