The AP carries an amusing item on what might be termed the leading search engines' trivia IQ. Questions culled from Trivial Pursuit were posed to Answers.com and Ask.com on the one hand (both claim expertise in this sort of thing), and to Google, Yahoo and MSN Search. The search results: Answers.com and Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) appear to be a small step ahead of Google, but definitely "smarter" than Yahoo and MSN when dealing with questions such as ''what glass beads are created when a meteorite strikes the Earth's surface?''
