Tremor to Launch Online Video Network

Ad network Tremor Network, which runs campaigns on some 300 sites, will launch a video online advertising network after its acquisition of in-stream video ad technology provider Dynadco, reports AdWeek. The new network will offer online publishers video serving, content and ad sales, according to Tremor CEO Jason Glickman; publishers using Dynadco's Ad-inStream technology can choose to sell their own ads or let Tremor sell on their behalf.

The effort to bring web video to smaller sites is similar to several others, including those of online video startup Brighcove (backed by AOL and IAC); both Reuters and the Associated Press, which will be offering video content; and video technology provider Lightningcast.

"As I talk to different people on the advertising side, what they're saying is they don't have a lot of options," Glickman said. "We bring option No. 5, the aggregated tail."

Dynadco founder and CEO, Jesse Chenard, has been named Tremor's chief technology officer, reports MediaPost, adding that he will provide technical, operational, and strategic direction to Tremor Network's video advertising platform and services, according to Glickman.

Last summer, Tremor acquired New York design boutique Asphalt Jungle, which offers services such as graphic design, gaming, animation, website creation, and interactive banner ads.
