Google's search page is its most popular, accounting for 79.90 percent of all visits to Google properties for the week ended May 13, writes DM News, citing research from Hitwise. Google's Image Search, with 9.54 percent of traffic, is the most popular subdomain, followed by Gmail at 5.51 percent, Google News at 1.49 percent and Google Maps at 0.82 percent.
Among the top 3 major internet players, including Yahoo and Microsoft's MSN, Google's was the only search page with the most visits, writes MediaPost. Yahoo's top domain was Yahoo Mail, accounting for 33.4 percent of visitors to Yahoo properties; next was the Yahoo portal page with 31.8 percent, and Yahoo Search with 9.8 percent.
In the case of MSN, Hotmail accounted for 40.7 percent of all MSN visitors, followed by the MSN portal with 33.1 percent and MSN Search at roughly 16 percent.
Froogle, Google's comparison shopping engine, had a 0.46 percent share of all Google traffic, according to DM News; Google Video Search had 0.45 percent, Google Groups 0.43 percent, Google Scholar 0.27 percent and Google Book Search 0.25 percent.
