Facebook to Launch Corporate-Local Parent-Child Places
Inside Facebook reports that Facebook will launch this week a limited private beta of tools that will provide a new parent-child management structure for Places. Essentially this means companies will be able to administrate all the Places pages of the local instances of their business. Foodservice, retail, insurance and other industries are already setting up Places for each of their branches to facilitate local marketing and encourage checkins, Inside Facebook reports.
Mobilizing a Website with Google
A new feature Google rolled out lets users customize their websites for mobile users within minutes. Called Sites, it also links to Google Analytics, allowing the user to study how visitors use the mobile website. Practical E-Commerce gives a good rundown of the six templates Google offers here.
Social Sharing with ReachMail
Email marketing service provider ReachMail has incorporated social media sharing features into its product that give users the option to automatically post email content to their Facebook and Twitter pages each time a new email campaign is distributed. It also provides reports with analytics on how many individuals shared email content via social channels.
