USA Today: Marketers Decide Ads Too Sexy For Teens

Teens may not be influenced by overtly sexy ads - or at least not enough to make the uproar worth it. Abercrombie & Fitch had a significant drop in November sales after the release of their holiday catalogue featuring naked models. Zirh fragrances pulled its print ads for its new FCUK Him and FCUK Her products, and retailers are pulling their products. While sex sells, marketers are discovering that some marketing approaches have gone too far in the eyes of the teen consumer (and their parents) and the retailers.
