Luster in limbo
In an effort to promote its phones' extra features, Verizon Wireless is launching a contest on its VCast video platform courtesy of Limbo, a mobile services firm specializing in mobile-only sweepstakes.
Called the Limbo Show, the mobile-exclusive game show will run a new episode daily. VCast subscribers can tune in on their phones at no extra charge to their accounts, according to DM News.
The game show is a guessing game. To participate, players must bid on prizes featured during the show, via text message. The twist is, the person with the lowest unique bid wins.
Shot in Las Vegas, the two-minute show touts big prizes, like an HDTV, concert tickets, and a trip to Las Vegas in partnership with Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. The grand prize is a trip to the Golden Globe Awards.
Verizon is promoting the game through banner ads on its WAP network.
This isn't the first time the two have partnered. The Limbo Show launched a similar contest in March on VCast.
