Former political blogger Ana Marie Cox will become the Washington editor for Time magazine's website.
The original Wonkette, Ana Marie Cox, has been hired by Time magazine's Time.com to coordinate political coverage - and write features and essays for both the print and web versions, writes Reuters. Cox, the author of the satirical novel "Dog Days," set in Washington, joined Time in March as a contributing writer. She's still blogging (infrequently), and starts work as of July 31.
Recently asked by New York Times columnist David Pogue whether "blogs are killing newspapers," Cox is quoted as having replied, " That dinosaur can't be killed. That really would take a meteor, and I don't think blogs are a meteor. They're kind of like a tiny asteroid shower."
She added, though, that newspapers are "going to have to change. I mean, all major media outlets are going to have to change to meet the demands of people who might, you know, have grown used to some of the things they get from blogs."
